Building a greener future for Oxfordshire
The green measures expected to be funded by this investment include decarbonisation of council-owned buildings, such as fire stations and care homes and helping fund the council's tree planting scheme, which, as well as creating cleaner air, will help improve local biodiversity. Further details will be reported when the projects have been completed.
All investments from Oxfordshire County Council are compliant with the Green Loan Principles. These are internationally recognised standards, also used by the UK Government for its green investments products. They require that the money raised can only be used on eligible green projects, under rules laid out in the Green Finance Framework.
